The Texas Gulf Coast Vizsla Club in conjunction with the Texas Viz Whizz Group is hosting a Fun Day on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at For Dogs Only, 714 Algoa-Friendswood Rd., Alvin, TX. Except for the entrance gate, the area is fenced.
Activities include agility, scent work demo and introduction to game birds. Questions or to request a bird for your dog (up to 3) contact Connie Foland at vizsla3667@comcast.net. Cost per bird is approximately $8/bird.
Important: January 21 is deadline for requesting birds.
What to bring: crate and treats for your dog and your lunch/snack. Water will be provided. Other breeds are welcome.
Activities: Fenced area for dogs to safely run, photo op, fun games, contests and intro to agility.
What to Bring: Your own lunch and drink, dog treats, poop bags to pick up after your dog, chair and maybe a crate. The club will provide bottled water.
Driving Directions: 714 Algoa Friendswood
Coming from west or northwest Houston from Alvin go about 4 miles east on Hwy 6 to just before the flashing yellow light (for Mustang Road) and turn left onto Algoa Friendswood Road. Facility is about 1/4 miles on the right.
Coming from the eats or northeast Houston, take FM 517 (Dickinson exit #19) from I-45 South. About 5 miles west of I-45 is Wild Animal Park, next street turn left at Algoa Friendswood Rd. After about 1 mile is a stop sign, continue another 1/2 miles to the facility on the left.
From either direction: these is a bright orange Paintball sign making the turn onto Algoa Friendswood Rd.

Rings will be running simultaneously. Preferred classes will run with the corresponding regular classes and height divisions. Class order will be determined depending on entry numbers. Please consult the AKC Regulations for Agility Trials for a complete description and eligibility for entry into these classes. The exhibitor is fully responsible for entering the dog in the correct class(es)/height divisions. Dogs running in a lower height division than they are eligible for will be eliminated.

Cane Rosso ("red dog" in Italian) has long been a supporter of dog rescue groups throughout the state of Texas, so much so that we even started our own (Cane Rosso Rescue) in 2014. Pups on the Patio is a dog-friendly party on our patio, in which we host a guest dog rescue group from Texas for a night of pizza and pups, while also raising awareness and funds for the group.
On Saturday, October 7th from 2 PM - 5 PM, we are partnering with Texas Gulf Coast Vizsla Club!
Your $10 donation to TXGCVC gets you a glass of beer or wine, as well as a discount on some of our most popular pizzas (the ones named after Cane Rosso family dogs!). Cane Rosso will then match the ticket donations at the end of the night, so the more people you bring, the more help and support the dog rescue receives!
Dog ownership is NOT REQUIRED, and anyone is welcome to come to support this great group. (But know that some groups bring dogs that are available for adoption! S'cute!) All other pizzas will be available at the regular price. For the event, our entire patio will be reserved for Pups guests!
