Field Trial info

At AKC Field Trials, dogs are entered into what is known as a Stake. Each stake has different requirements for dogs and or handlers. Dogs entered into a particular stake are to be run in pairs. These pairs are called a braces. Each dog entered in a particular stake is competing for placements against every other dogs entered in that stake.

Placements in a stake may range from First through Fourth. At the agreement of both Judges of any stake which they judge, any or all placements may be withheld for that stake. Field trials are much more varied than hunting test as there are many different stakes which a dog may be entered.
